Black Hawk Down - Deluxe Edition

Just a few quick comments - so far. :

I was only able to watch the movie portion of this 3 disc set last night. It appears to me to be the same 2.35:1 video transfer used in the original release. The audio also is the same awesome soundtrack you've come to know and revel in. No surprises, no dissapointments so far.

I'll try to watch the special features and report back on them tonight or tomorrow evening. I did listen to about 10 minutes of the commentary offered by Task Force Ranger veterans MSgt. Matt Eversman, Col. Danny McKnight, Col. Tom Matthews and Col. Lee Van Arsdale. This should be a VERY good, insightful commentary track. Let me say here that I'm not generally a partaker of special features, but the extras offered in this set are the reason I upgraded. On disc 3 is the 90-minute History Channel documentary on that day in Somalia, a 60-minute Front Line (PBS) documentary and also, an interactive mission timeline.

Rating, so far? :45:

I really didn't want another copy of this film just for the SPECIALS, but I was a bit worried that maybe, just maybe the transfer was better on the latest release. Glad to hear they are the same. Thanks for the update, Tex.
