    Birthday Girl with Nicole Kidman...

Birthday Girl is a nice little film starring Ben Chaplin and Nicole Kidman. Chaplin is a bored bank clerk and decides to find a Russian bride on the internet. His pick is Nicole ( with a really different black hair look) and just when things are starting to work out for them, two Russians enter the picture and we learn that the whole thing is a scam, with Nicole as the bait. They force Chaplin to steal money from the bank, then... well I won't say any more.

Ah, don't watch this with the kids. There's some kinky sex scenes between Kidman and Chaplin ( think Nicole in bondage). Other than that, though, the film is fairly tame.

Oh, and there is a nice ( and steamy) music video of Robbie Williams and Nicole singing Something Stupid.

Unless you are a hardcore Nicole Kidman fan, you will probably only want to rent this one.

Yeah, I can't understand why he did that. But there's always two sides to a story I guess.

Married to Nicole Kidman, and adopts children.

        I have my suspicions.

Unless he just got tired of getting on tiptoe to kiss her.

Kissing her without tiptoeing might be a pretty good option, too. :yeah:

Guys, maybe Tom was just to nice a guy for her. I saw him on Leno once recently, and I have to say, no one could have been more likable than Cruze was on that show. Now I don't know Nicole's personality off "set", but maybe they just didn't mesh from that perspective. I bet Tom is still involved in the Kid's lives. But then, what do I know?

David and George, you guys should be ashamed, hehe. Maybe Brandon was on the right track, wanted kids that were truly his. However, given the pressures of being a Hollywood star, how can many marriages survive anyway with two stars?

One thing is noticable. Since their breakup, Nicole's career has really taken off. Other thing is, they spent too much time together in the UK making Eyes Wide Shut. Man and wife have to be apart every now and then. I really think that film took a toll on their relationship.

Um, that's not what I meant by my suspicions.

Ayway, as for him being too nice a guy, from the way the divorce went, doesn't seem likely (my wife reads all the People-type mags. Really, not me, her. OK, sometimes there's one in the bathroom when I clipping fingernails or something).

And Tom is on the bottom end of 5'5".

You can pretty much scale any actor's height down by 3-4". Except for the oddball few who are larger than you'd guess:

                      John Malkovich
                      Tim Robbins

                        The Birthday Girl

Stars Ben Chaplin as John, Nicole Kidman as Nadia, and is directed by Jez Butterworth.

Rated: R for sexuality and language. There's some minor violence, too.

Premise: Sometimes, especially with people, what you get isn't what you were expecting.

Okay, I thought I'd start up this game on the forum that we could play to keep each other deep in thought. For those who haven't heard of the game, it's based on the premise that you can link ANY movie actor of a reasonable recent era to Kevin Bacon through a maximum of 6 common movies with other actors....

Wife didn't like. Thought it dragged too much, and it probably did. Overall, though, I quite enjoyed it myself. Nine is based on the Broadway musical, sort of based on the life of Italian filmmaker, Frederico Fellini and his obsession with women both behind the camera and in the boudoir. Penelope Cruz...
