An enjoyable take that pays subtle but respectful little homages to the original films (and borrows, appropriately, from Conquest of the Planet of the Apes). A worthy modern take on the franchise. Fans of the original (as I am) should find this agreeable.

There's been complaints that viewers were disappointed because they were expecting to see all out warfare action between apes and humans, but such wasn't the case. I'm curious because it's a prequel so I will definitely rent it at least.- Bottom
