    Pollack

    WOW!!!
Now this is substance over style.
Ed Harris again shows why I like to watch his work so much...this time he takes it a step farther! There can be no doubt, this is his best work ever!
Purely character driven, this is the story of american painter Jackson Pollack.
Fueled by imagination and alcohol this story pulls no punches.
He and Lee Krasner (Maria Gay Harden) create a strange relation ship. Her attraction is built on admiration of his work rather than true love of his character (and his character is hard to even like, let alone love) He is attracted to her because she is the reason he finally begins to succeed at making money.
This is a story of sickness, despair, creativity, madness and ultimate ruin.
The transfer is very good, alot of accurate color (as you might imagine) some scenes show edge enhancement, but not enough to worry about.
Sound is as it should be for this character driven story.
As much as I like Gladiator, and R Crowe's performance, Harris should have won best actor.
Once you see this, I think you'll agree.

    This is well worth owning!

Vacation for two weeks, the living will be busy! May even catch up on some DVD watching!

Now this I gotta see. Seriously, though, I am a big Ed Harris fan and plan on picking this one up soon.
