    The Pledge is terrific.

Excellent acting, direction and cinematography, and best of all a script with an ending brimming with irony. I rented this over the weekend, but now I have to own it. Look for a lot of bit parts by an assortment of actors, but watch for Mickey Rourke. He isn't on the screen for long, but it is a powerful few minutes.

    As usual I agree!
Also Benico Del Toro, adds a wonderful touch to this fine bit of movie making.
Jack is, as always very good...not his best, but I do think one of his better roles.

This is a good movie elevated to the status of great due to the performance of Mickey Rourke. MR put his heart and soul into this character and it was impossible not to be mesmerized by his every move on the screen.

      The Wolfman/the remake
      by George Bellefontaine
The old Universal Pictures original version of The Wolfman (1941) scared the living hell outta me the first time I saw it. And it still scares me today. The remake, starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins, is a pale version of the original. In fact, they've changed the story dramatically, and...
