...he gets little screen time. Aussie director, John Polson must have leaned on fellow Aussie, Russell Crowe, to help him get this film released. It's not a bad film, but suffers from lack of screen time for its leading man and a weak script. Instead we see a lot of Jon Foster, a young serial killer, and Sophie Traub, a teenage runaway. Foster killed his parents. He is released from prison and this outrages Crowe, a police detective who knows Foster has killed others and will likely kill again. Despite the added burden of dealing with a hospitalized and comatose wife, Crowe is determined to stay with Foster and his every move in the hopes of preventing another murder. The runaway teen, Sophie, is obsessed with Foster and hooks up with him, knowing full well her life is in danger. How it all comes to a head is interesting, but the script could have been better and if it had been, perhaps the film would have done better at the boxoffice and with the critics, too. Anyway, the info on this film says it was released in 2009 but elsewhere I read that it was made in 2007, so I guess there were problems from the start.
