Cloverfield

Cloverfield follows five New Yorkers from the perspective of hand held video camera.

The movie starts with a party recording and then as a monster of unknown origin destroys a building.

As they go to investigate, parts of the building and the head of the Statue of Liberty come raining down. The movie follows their adventure trying to escape and save a friend, a love interest of the main character.

If you have seen Godzilla, its similar but from a different perpective and ofcourse a different monster .

I would give it an Average rating.

Resurrecting an old thread here.

I finally worked my way to Cloverfield in my Netflix queue. I have to admit that I enjoyed it. A good :35: based on the fairly novel approach to a Godzilla movie, pretty good acting all around, a really good soundtrack (on Blu-Ray anyway), and decent special effects and combat scenes. I began to think that the jumping bean camera wasn't going to bother me, but somewhere around 62 minutes in it caught up with me. I'm not susceptible to motion sickness via boats, ships, small planes, airliners, rollercoasters or whatever, so count me surprised. It won't be a purchase for me, but I'm glad I've seen it.
