    Cloverfield 1/18/08

A lot of people who saw Transformers in the theater remember the Mystery movie trailer for a project called Cloverfield by JJ Abrams.

Well there is an official movie trailer now and this movie clearly has a Godzilla look & sound, but from what has been reported it is not.

Watch trailers for movies and TV shows on tv.apple.com. Browse trailers for upcoming TV series and films.

Either way, it looks like it could be very good. :T

I'm pretty curious to see what this is about too! Looks to have promise from the trailer.

Nope, I don't live in New York City. Safe here. Don't get monsters up in Alaska!

(...well, okay, maybe the abominable snowman)

(...and vampires if you believe recent movies)

(...and a crapload of snow. I guess that can be scary)

The first trailer there is also available on the Playstation network for those who have access.

              Looks kinda interesting!

What Vampire movie involved Alaska? I must of missed that one.

This movie does look very interesting. It's from the creators of Lost and I've always loved that show

Saw the trailer last night before Beowulf. With all the noise and stomping sounds, my friend and I joked it was the "Lost Monster" who wasn't happy about having been taken from "the island".

Whoa. That's me hooked. Can't wait....

                      Edit....

This reminded me of somthing from my interest in Discordia and H.P Lovecraft's fiction...

It's pure speculation on my part but a possible plot option.... Don't go there if you don't want a potential spoiler.

Ok, I know this came out in the states a few months ago, but I just saw it here in Japan (and I'll buy it on DVD in two weeks.. ha ha). I read reviews about it before and though 'ehhh', and then when I flew back to the states the other week, everyone was raving about how good and cool and whatever it was. Then I saw looked up "Cloverfield Monster" on youtube and clicked on the first link. I couldn't stop laughing (you have to know SouthPark to get it). So I was curious.

I watched it yesterday. It was interesting. It made me dizzy watching it through first person point of the view the whole time. I haven't watched a horror flick in years. The last thing remotely close to a horror flick was Silent Hill. But I had to watch it cause everyone said it was one of the best horror flicks from the 21st century. So I watched it. It it was pretty cool. The theater's sound system sucked, so that killed it for me. I loved the ending though. My kind of ending.

By the way, I'm only commenting cause everyone posted about the trailor, but not the actual movie.

I haven't seen it yet (the curse of the island strikes again ), but Jen, our son and a couple of friends caught it in Houston when it came out. They were evenly split on it - Jen and Aaron liked it and our friends didn't. The friends' objections were wholly centered on the jittery camera-work, not the story itself.

Well just found out its not coming out on BD next week... so I'll be waiting for the BD version whenever paramount gets that all straightened out. Might rent the DVD or something though.

I think this movie requires a huge screen. I just can't imagine this movie having the same effect with a small tv.

Some films do need a major screen to get their full impact. For me Lawrence Of Arabia, Ben Hur and The Bridge On The River Kwai are prime examples. I'll have to wait until I see Cloverfield before adding it to that list.
