Although its a foreign language movie (german) but still interesting to watch to understand the differences in the lives of East and West germany.
In the early 1980s, the successful dramatist Georg Dreyman and his longtime companion Christa-Maria Sieland, a popular actress, are big intellectual stars in the socialist state, although they secretly don't always think loyal to the party line.
One day, the Minister of Culture becomes interested in Christa, so the secret service agent Wiesler is instructed to observe and sound out the couple, but their life fascinates him more and more..
Won best Foreign Language Film of the Year in 2007. Another 44 wins & 15 nominations were made.

This is one of the best films I've seen in the past year. Mind you, I don't go to theaters anymore, so there's a lot I haven't seen yet, but this is still a great film in any year.Santino
