    Hello All,

I just ordered a region 3 version. So far all my region 3 dvds look & sound better than our region 1 stuff. I'll do an a/b comparison like i did wth my other films.

Although being a huge fan of thrillers and sci fi, Transformers never appealed to me, even the previews looked very childish to me. Until I got dragged into the theater expecting nothing more than popcorn. It was my second biggest "Wow" experience. The first one was Matrix... bloody hellll. that was some a$$ kicking stuff.

Doing grocery shopping yesterday and came across double disc set of transformers(I loved this as a child)but did not know if it was worth the buy,so I'll think about it some more.
I still have not bought into the hi-def market( I am starting to get itchy about it)but this movie and some others have made me wonder just how much of an improvement I would get.(I do have a DVDO VP50)

But it looks like some people have been impressed with this dvd.
To the people who have bought the SD version of transformers,is this worth while buy?

Absolutely. My BenQ 1080p upconverts standard dvd nicely and the picture was amazing. I'd say go for it.

I concur with George, absolutely, great video and audio transfer in the SD version. Nice show off DVD.

            Peace and blessings,

I can't be lieve this but I finally got to see this movie last night. I got the special edition on DVD as a stocking filler for christmas and oh boy!

PQ and SQ is excellent. It upscales nicly to 1080p and the CGI is unbelievably realistic. I really likes the way that Bay shot so many scenes on location and not in a green room. It really added to the realism.

Ahyhow, it was my first viewing and by far one of the best action movies i've seen.

Yea, the action in this movie is pretty nuts.

I recall seeing this in the theater for the first time on opening night. The collective "whoa"s, "dude"s, etc in the short hush right after the opening scene in the desert was pretty crazy. It definitely dumps you straight into the action.

Just watched it in HD (a rental). PQ is outstanding. Audio was very good (I'm limited to the optical output of my player, so I'm not getting even the full lossy). Bass was clean, though not always as deep as I would have expected (again, optical output).

Didn't know anything about Transformers (except the toy and cartoon commercials) before watching the film, so I appreciated what might otherwise have seemed like a bit too much exposition.

I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure it warrants a buy. Maybe someday, but there are a number of other movies ahead of it on my list.
