    Tristan & Isolde

This film stars James Franco as Tristan and Sophia Myles as Isolde and is directed by Kevin Reynolds. It is set in Ireland in the dark ages and is basically a tale of a forbidden and doomed love affair, but kept me interested with the many well done swordplay battle scenes. It falters now and then and probably could have been edited down from its 2 + hours to about 105 minutes, but all in all I rather enjoyed it. Ridley Scott was to have been the original director but he had too many large projects on the go so in this one he gets executive producer credit.

PQ is rather bland at time with muted colors that seem to fit in with the stark, cold landscape. Audio is pretty good with some interesting LFE.

Or use a free rental from Blockbuster if you are on the rewards program.

            Hi George,

Interestingly, the legend predated and possibly influenced the Arthurian romance of Lancelot and Guinevere.

However it is in turn is considered to have been influenced by the ancient Irish mythological legend of 'Toraigheacht Dhiarmuid agus Ghrainne' or 'The Pursuit of Dermot and Grainne.'

A little bit of blarney for yeh!
