Well the wife wanted to see this so I rented and watched it last night. It stars Dennis Quaid, Rene Russo and a bunch of irritating kids--18 of them. Well it is a tired old plot: man loses wife and leaves him with a bunch of kids; woman loses husband and leaves her with a bunch of kids; man and woman meet, fall in love, family all move in under one roof and chaos ensues. But fear not, as usual there is the happy, sappy ending.
Okay, it was tolerable. But thankfully it ran just under 90 minutes so I had time to rush upstairs and watch Pittsburg Penguins beat the Montreal Canadians. But I have always admired Dennis Quaid as an actor so it was painful to watch the director inflict a lot of unfunny comedy slapstick on the guy.
If you like the kind of plot outlined above ( my wife obviously does ), you will probably enjoy this. Me ? Well, like I said, I tolerated it.
