As you all probably know by now, this is based on a true event, and concerns the rescue of a group of prisoners of war from a Japanese prison camp. Theres a back story concerning love, life at the pow camp, the struggle for survival, the Phillipino underground resistance, etc., but the real action is the raid itself, which only takes up the last 30 to 40 minutes of the film. But it is worth the wait.
PQ is different. Almost a sepiatone look. Sound, during the action sequences, is terrific. Not the best war movie made, but necessary for collectors ( like me ) of war films. I waited for it to become available as previously viewed because Walmart didn't have the widescreen 2 disc set when it was first released on dvd.
