January is looking like a brutal month on the pocketbook

Here is what is on my radar:

    Jan 3rd(tomorrow):

Wedding Crashers Uncorked UR WS Edition
    The Mask - offered in a 2 for $20 deal with WC'ers.
    Dumb and Dumber Unrated

    Jan 10th:

    Ferris Bueller's Bueller Bueller SE
    Transporter 2
    Red Eye - maybe
Mad Max Superbit - doubtful but intriguing.

    Jan 17th:

Dead Poet's Society SE - if Anamorphic
    Final Destination 2 pack(for $15) w/ free ticket to FD3
Good Morning Vietnam SE - if Anamorphic
Lord of War 2 disc SE - has DTS ES on top of many extras unlike the single disc

    Jan 24th:
Flightplan - maybe. Mixed reviews on this

    Jan 31st:

    Dune Extended with Tin
    Hill Street Blues Season 1

OMG, are we FINALLY going to get an anamorphic version of DPS? Maybe some day we'll also get anamorphic True Lies, too.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

            Chris,
That is not yet a guarantee but you'd hope so. Buena Vista is known to rerelease a non anamorphic transfer like they did with Ransom.

Definitely Wedding Crashers, but not so interested in the rest. You have to wonder , though, about a Mad Max Superbit version.

Same thing with Armageddon... can't believe we still don't have an anamorphic version.

Wow, I thought Superbit was stopping production. I just kind of assumed with Superbit sales out there, and upcoming high-def discs. Guess not.

Since Sony bought MGM, they can rerelease alot of titles as Superbit and redo the transfer as well.

Mad Max already looks great with the Australian sound mix so I'm wary that they can improve on the current SE.

Although not the best of movies The Cave is released this week and while it's only DD 5.1, it has some of the best surround sound I've yet heard. It's "just right" to really give you a sense of the cavernous places they go. The only "this is completely wrong" part of the audio is how clearly the people can talk to each other under water. But the atmospheric effects (such as water dripping down a wall behind you) are really good. Definitely rent it and have a listen!
