I live in Europe, but I can play region 1. Due to the fact that almost every dvd gets released earlier in the States than in Europe I buy almost all my dvd's online at DVD Empire (www.dvdempire.com). Even with taxes and shipping they are cheaper than overhere (in Euro's).- Bottom

New: Best Buy mostly. If they are not the chepest then I buy them at Circuit City. I tend to avoid Walmart like the plague they are.
Used: I buy them from a local shop that has a money back guarantee against scratches and such. I avoid rental discs as far as purchasing goes.
If I was to buy online, I do like www.digitaleyes.net but I don't buy online much at all anymore.- Bottom

Okay here's my list, although it is definitely cheaper to buy DVD's from AU sites in you are not living in US, in some cases this might be true for US also due to the conversion rate, even after shipping charges. devoted is best in most cases.
devoteddvd.com.au
dvdcrave.com
dvdorchard.com.au
digitaleyes.net
deepdiscountdvd.com
catchmovie.com
videoezydvd.com.au
Atlanticdvd.com.au
ezydvd.com
but but....just check the region code for the DVD and its compatibility to play in your region/DVD player (no prob if you have a multi region player).Need is the mother of all Inventions.....I am needy- Bottom

I usually buy from BestBuy on the first week they are out, since they normally are in price with the online places then. If I don't then I use www.dvdpricesearch.com to find the cheapest dvd on line reseller.
I do use deepdiscountdvd.com a LOT for random stuff, definitely have great prices plus when I don't mind waiting for shipping, their free shipping is great.Digital Audio makes me Happy.
