Nick, I'm not sure on the changes/additions if any to Ghost In The Shell SE. I don't have a copy of any of the earlier issues, so it's a moot point for me.

I'm on the fence about The Village. It'll be a fast rental to see if I want to purchase.

Russel, you're going to love the SE of Fifth Element. It's breathtaking!

Bah, nice week to catch up on some movies I have been putting off.

The original DVD of Ghost in the shell 2 has english subtitles for the hearing impaired only. So, whenever theres a sound effect going on, theres a subtitle for it, such as "Helicopter approaching" and stuff like that. Also the subtitles are a little large and obtrusive compared to other anime movies.

A review on this aspect of the special edition would be much appreciated as I am on the fence about buying it!

I already rented CATWOMAN, CELLULAR, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, seems like the neighborhood video rentals in LA are competing with Blockbuster and Hollywood Video!!! We get our movies a week in advance with the little video rental place.

Last week I enjoyed, The Village, Paparazzi, and Without a Paddle. I just saw The Professional SE DTS, with Jean Reno, just awesome to watch again.

By breaking street date. They could be in serious trouble if someone turns them in.

I ended up buying The Village. I'm a completist and own all of his films. I took a real risk but I think I'm ok here. THe early parts had my hair standing up on my neck.

I thought about Professional and Fifth Element but the early editions of these movies that I own are ok for now. I figure they will make due until a Blu ray release hits which I expect fairly early on.

All the mom and pop video rentals in Los Angeles do this practice, mostly to their loyal customers who's had bad experience with Blockbuster, Hollywood Video and so on. For example Hollywood Video and 20/20 have their new movie out on Sunday evening when Blockbuster gets it on Tues, while the smaller ones gets it 5 days before Hollywood Video and 20/20 it's been like this for as long as I can remember. It's like nobody really cares who makes the money or not but if you have the goods then people are gonna come to you.I guess if you live in Los Angeles county it comes as one of the perks.
