    KING ARTHUR a knightly mess...

Last Friday I chose to see this film over I Robot because the lineup for Will's new movie was just too long. I shoulda waited.

When Bruckheimer messes up things, he does it royally. King Arthur, this version anyway, is supposed to be closer to fact than legend. Who knows ? (t was definitely a different take on how Arthur came to be a king). But to me the whole thing was an utter mess. For one thing the photography had a weird turquoise cast to it,particularly during the winter scenes, and for another there were too many characters with very little attempt to make you really care about them. As for the battle scenes, well they were impressive at times, but the long hesitation between one character levelling the final lethal blow to another character was a bit too much. This was done much better, and more beliveably by Michael Mann in Last Of The Mohicans.

I wouldn't say don't go see this one ( it does have that cutie from Pirates Of The Carribbean) and Ebert seemed to give it a thumbs up, but this just wasn't what I expected and would probably have been done better by someone else.
Sheesh, I hardly ever go to the movies and I had to pick this one.

Hope you're not telling us that Johnny Depp is in "King Arthur". :>) "KING ARTHUR a knightly mess..." Would that be Keira Knightley at the Round Table?

Go to see "Shrek 2" or "Spider Man 2". Those are two that won't disappoint. ("Spider Man 2" has a cutie, too, in Kirsten Dunst.)

... and this time in relative luxury of my own home theater. When I saw this in the theater it kinda left me cold. It was probably the different take on the legend and how King Arthur came to be. But watching it the second time, with a few added scenes ( Director's Cut ) seemed to modify my thinking....

Bought it when it was released a few days ago and watched it last night. It was an RKO Radio release , re-released on dvd by Warner. But what a shame. Nothing was done to improve the transfer. In fact it looked like it was from the same master they used for the VHS tape. There are many scratches, and...

                    by Lex
It's a sad day in Bluesville. The King is gone. BB King passed away at his home in Las Vegas Nevada. Though he had been in hospice care. I guess he decided he wanted to go home one last time. If the news reported accurately. I hope that Lucille was close at hand.
