Good Weekend For Movie Viewin' - What'd You See?

Went to the mainland to pick Jen up and we took the opportunity to FINALLY catch Return Of The King.
    OMG 8O

Well, more on that later, much more - we're off to the Island cinema to see The Last Samurai. Did you make it out to see anything? What and how was it?

So I guess you either really liked "Return of the King" or were stunned by disappointment? (I'm guessing "really liked".)

This past weekend, I didn't go out to see a movie, but I did watch three at home: "Bowfinger", "Casablanca" and "Get Shorty". This was not my first time to watch any of them, but it had been a while for each, so it was fun to revisit them. I won't say which one I enjoyed the most -- all three are interesting and entertaining in different ways.

Wow, Jen and I just got back from The Last Samurai. With Return Of The King, I do not ever remember a weekend where I've seen two movies that were so powerful, so fulfilling and simply SO GOOD. :amen: As these have both been in theaters a while, I'll just put short reviews of both these movies out tomorrow night.

It's safe to say that these are the finest movies I've seen this year. And, the one I'd give the Oscar to might just surprise you.

I’m going to take a not-too-wild guess here and predict that you’d pick “The Last Samurai". Why? Not so much because of what I know about it versus “Return of the King”, but because of your fall-on-your-sword stand earlier in the year in support of “Underworld”, while holding your nose and rolling your eyes when discussing “School of Rock”. You tend to root for the underdog. :>) So it would only surprise me if you went with the epic that appears to be an awards juggernaut this season.

PS -- All in fun. They're just movies, and not any of them are "Casablanca". :>)
