    Spider-Man: Homecoming

Saw this with the kids on the weekend. Not quite as good a movie as Spider-Man 2 (with Maguire) but the new actor nails the teen-aged Spider-Man/Peter Parker role. Also happy the "origin story" lasted 30 seconds in dialogue. Hard to imagine anyone going to the movie doesn't know it by now. Michael Keaton is great as the villain (kind of full circle--playing Batman leads to Birdman [a great movie], which leads to playing a villain called the Vulture). Perfect summer movie to go with kids from 10 and up. No need to have seen all the Marvel Universe movies to understand what's going on. 4.5/5

Next up (with my buddy, NOT my kids): Dunkirk on 15/70mm full-size IMAX.

    The Amazing Spiderman 2 review
    by madmac
It was a toss up between renting this film or 'Noah' and I chose this one because I have liked the Spiderman series of films. This one is by far the weakest of the Spiderman series I've seen. This movie is aimed at 13-14 year boys....full of action and special effects. I felt at certain times that I...

Now, I haven't seen any of the Spy Kids movies, but I've heard they're good, and got some good reviews....

    Movie Posters

Hey, a topic I've not seen discussed much, movie posters. They can be very artistic, decorative, theme oriented, and absolutely collectible.

My daughter really got me started on posters, and I will post my entire collection here, as I find them. It is growing, as I spent a couple of...

    Friends With Kids

Thought it was time to get back to watching the odd romantic comedy my wife and I enjoyed so much so I went with Friends With Kids. It's written, co-produced and directed by Jennifer Westfeldt. She , and her friend since college days ( Adam Scott ) decide to have a child, but without the romance thing....
