    Sci-Fi Channel Preview 12 Monkeys

This looks pretty interesting! Excuse me SyFy as they now call themselves,

See if my video insertion skills work here...

12 Monkeys is in my top 5 all-time favorite movies. Added this to DVR list, looking forward to seeing if the show's any good.

      Yep, I loved the movie

This is exactly why I could never suffer the 'made for TV' version.

Ordinarily I'd agree but Fargo has me willing to give it a chance.

Now that you mention it, Fargo was the only 'network' tv show other than sports & PBS/BBC that I have watched & enjoyed in probably ten years.

Pretty good season premiere last night. So far not a substantive departure from the original movie--are we going to have pretty much a re-tell? I don't find Madeline Kahn as anything special, so the new female lead is fine. Not sure about the male lead, since Bruce Willis is so iconic. Brad Pitt's role may be a woman now. Thought the paradox result was interesting, although perhaps not completely sensical.

While I like Gilliam's movies, I'm no fan of the strange pseudo-Pythoneque feel of his films. So I don't miss that in this show.

            I'll keep watching.

Madeline Stowe, not Kahn, was in the original (if it had been Kahn, the tone would have been less apocalyptic sci-fi and more "Blazing Saddles" ). Haven't seen the premiere yet, but I'm a bit disappointed it lacks the Gilliam "strangeness". It's what I look for in his films. Oh well, to each his own.
