A US remake from the brilliant UK series. I'll be really interested to see how the US version fairs out. William H. Macy really does look the part in the promo pic I saw.
If the show remains true to the original's roughness, grittiness and hard hitting honesty - it should be great. If it's toned down or softened in any way, I'd be dissapointed for the American audience.

Oh it's extremely gritty and hard hitting. Showtime usually doesn't tone down anything from what I've seen

After watching a few episodes I have to say it sure doesn't seem like they are babying anything up to look more tame. I'm quite hooked though it's an intriguing show with a lot of depth to the story.Comment

I watched quite a few episodes of Californication, House of Lies, and Shameless last weekend to get up to speed again. I am hooked on all 3. I needed a shower or two to wash the filth off of me, lol. Should be interesting to see these shows develop this year.
