I opened my email this afternoon to find a sad note from Jonathan Capra saying that his dad died yesterday. Frank Jr., and his father, contributed greatly to the art and business of film making.
The last few years Frank had been running Screen Gem Studios and was one of the nicest human beings I have encountered within the film business. Earlier this year he discovered that he had cancer. I had just finished a protracted battle with the same type and we had several discussions on treatment choices and what to expect.
Even when he was very ill he continued to come to work promoting the studio and the workers in Wilmington, NC that he loved so much. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
After I wrote the above I realized that some of you might not recognize the Capra family so I have included some links.
