What was your favorite tv western ?

For me number one was HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL, with WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE a close second. The actors ( Richard Boone and Steve McQueen, respectively) made them hits for me. There were a lot of other good ones I enjoyed, but I never missed an episode of the above two show.

Just ordered the third season of Have Gun Will Travel to go with the first two and will buy the entire series as it is released. Don't own any other westerns. Might consider Heck Ramsey or Brisco County Jr. though.

Feeling a sense of deja vu, I did a search and found that we sorta discussed this already. Although the original topic was about westerns in general, the ones on TV were all mentioned. Anyway, my favorite TV western is a toss-up between Have Gun, Bonanza and Gunsmoke.

There was a made-for-TV-movie called Purgatory that I really like. While not a series, it definitely is my favorite "TV Western".

Glen's correct, we did have a thread in At The Movies called Your Favorite Westerns?. It wasn't about TV-only shows though.

I love Westerns, even if they fall a little short of my expectations. Such is the case with American Outlaws. I was expecting a serious Western drama, but instead got a lighthearted, sometimes amusing take on the Jesse James legend.

There's nothing new in the retelling of the legend, but...

Seraphim Falls is a taut psychological western drama set just after the civil war. It stars Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan. Neeson, from the opening, is dead set on hunting down Brosnan and killing him. We don't find out why until a brief flashback to a place called Seraphim Falls. This film has gorgeous...

                    Hi all,

This thread isn't just about Westerns on DVDs! It's about your favorite Westerns - period. At the cinema. On TV. On tape. On laserdisc. Yes, on DVD. On. . . well, whatever. I'd started a thread like this back on the "old" HTG but it disappeared in the migration,...
