Robert Wise Passed Away

Robert Wise, one of the most talented and reconizable (from his movies) directors/editors in Hollywood has passed away from heart failure at 91. I knew he had made some of my favorite films, but when I went to IMDB and looked him up it shocked me. The man had a way with films - any kind of film - musicals, sci-fi, drama, military, you name it. Some of his movies (and his role in them) include:

Robert Wise didn't direct many westerns, but one of his I particularly liked was BLOOD ON THE MOON that starred Robert Mitchum. A great classic adult western . I have it on laserdisc and have been watching for it on dvd but no luck so far. As for Wise, I pretty much liked everything he did, and Sand Pebbles with Steve McQueen is one of my top favorite movies of all time.

Robert Wise -- big loss to the motion picture industry. RIP.
