    Quick processer ?

Currently I am running the RSP-985....Yeah Yeah I know it's old but it does the job and IMO sounds good. I am looking on upgrading, now is it wroth it to go with the 1066 or wait for the 1098? Has anyone done this upgrade? Any thoughts would be helpful.

    I went from a 985 to a 1066 and had I known about the 1098, I would have waited..

While the 1066 does sound better and has DPLII, the 985 doesn't have the quirks the 1066 does..

That said, I definately don't mind the quirks with how gorgeous the 1066 looks.. The 985 is technically a $500 more expensive processor..

If double the cost isn't a factor, hold out for the 1098..

Hello all!! I'm new to the forum and would really appreciate some advice. I recently sold an RSP-980, RDA-975 & RDA980. I was going to upgrade to the 1066. After reading through this forum, I was sure I was going to buy the RSP-1006 until I read about the Big Brother. My local dealer also advised...

        Adding a RB 1070 to RSP 1066 & RB 985 combination
        by Ross Smith
Thanks to Rotel, I have just had my faulty RSP 976 replaced with a RSP 1066 running a RB 985 Mk 1, I couldn't believe how much smoother and detailed the sound is. No more do I have to squirm in my seat when listening to D/D music DVD's and the CD stereo performance has me tapping my feet and listening...

        First post, Rotel Rsp 985

        First, great forum.
I have the chance to purchase a new old stock RSP 985, $700.00. I have no need for 6.1, 7.1 processing. I have read some opinions that the 985 is better in stereo over the 1066. What about home theater? I'm about 50/50 with movies and music. I will be upgrading from a yamaha...
