It uses the composite input so you can use it for:

    1) DVD (good for DVD-A menus)
    2) HTPC (use as computer monitor)
    3) Security cameras
    4) Cable TV

Or anything else as long as you uses the composite video connection. I find it useful since I was going to build an HTPC for music playback and can use this display as a computer monitor. It also serves as normal display showing you connections, surround format used and so on. Finally it can be turned off completely (full circuit shutdown) in order to prevent any video noise entering audio circuits.

    Thanks,
    Maziar

      Connect HTPC to RSP-1098 display
      by thunderstorm77
      Hi

Since I'm getting my RSP-1098 soon, I keep firing questions in this forum...

How does the 1098 work with a HTPC? Will the screen look OK if I get a VGA->composite, or is the resolution way off? What is the screen resolution?

      I would appreciate any help...

HTPC Video -> 1098 TFT Display
      by marginwalker
I'd really like to be able to use my TFT to access a bare minimum of controls from my PC, I'd probably configure a desktop with a couple of shortcuts, or program a start screen with 2-4 large buttons because nothing more will be legible on a fuzzy 640x480 desktop in 16x9 stretch-o-vision. Anyone try...

      KE32TS2 32 inch plasma display

Well, I quitely added this TV to supplement my front projection since I saw real quickly that I was going to crank a lot of hours on my PJ in a hurry. It's an HDTV monitor, the following applies: (Extracted from Plasma Depot since it was actually better than Sony's writeup.) I won't address each feature...

      Gateway HTPC's
      by aud19
This is probably old news but Gateway is selling a bonified HTPC for those of you who may not have the time or want to deal with all the setup headaches of DIY HTPC's It's not bad looking either and comes with the popular (for HTPC) Gyration KB and mouse plus a remote control. Only Intel powered though.......
