    New Rotel owner-with question

I bought a RB-991 a couple weeks ago on Audiogon and am more than pleased. This thing has breathed new life into my speakers-all of them (I had no idea taking the load of the mains off the receiver would improve the other channels so much)! So now I've got the fever and am looking to amp my center channel.

I found a 971 at dealer but am curious about the bridging operation. There is no external switch. The owners manual states that an authorized technicial "should" do the bridging internally, but then goes on to describe the process in detail. It dosen't sound that hard-remove the cover and move a couple jumpers-but I don't have much experience with repairing electronics and don't want to screw anything up. Is this something I can do without messing up the amp, or should I keep looking for a 981 or other model with an external switch? Any input would be appreciated.

BTW-Great sit! I just found it

Newbie: Bridging and triggering old amps?
    by likwidsh0k
    Hi all,

I have just entered the world of HT with Rotel separates and just have a couple of newbie questions to ask.

I used to have rotel stereo seperates with a rc960 and rb980 and the power switch on my pre-amp died so I thought it was about time I went HT, and just picked...

    Looking for a RB-981
    by awtryau89
    Hello,
New to this forum and I am looking for a Rotel RB-981. I currently have one and will be needing a second to passive biamp some NHT 3.3's. I will use one 981 per speaker and I am concerned there may be slight differences in the 1070. I love the newer amps but I also love my 981 and 985...

    Bridging Versus Bi-amping?
    by Chas_T
Just took delivery of a Sherbourn 7/2100 (Bridgeable) and I am curious what your thoughts are on bridging versus passive bi-amping.

The amp is connected to all Paradigm and for the fronts (Studio 100's) I am thinking of bi-amping only because I have some Cat Cables XLR Silver Cats that...

    bridging the rmb-1077
    by Frankster72
    hi,

I just bought the rmb-1077 and operate it at b&w XT4 speakers. It delivers a nice warm sound.

Actually I've heard the XT4 need a pretty stable amp, so I thought about bridging. I just use 5 of 7 channels offert by the 1077.

    Ususally you need an signal...

    Bridging Question
    by OnlyOne
This may be the idiot question of the day, but I was wondering about Bridging. I have the Rotel 1055 and the 1075. Currently the 1075 is powering the main 5 speakers and the 1055 is powering the 2 rears for 7.1.

I was thinking though, that I could get more power in stereo, and overall...
