Which Rega TT for my 1070's?

I'm about to purchase my first TT for my setup and would like some advice/comments from those familiar with the Rotel 1070 series. I had pretty much decided on the Rega RP1 but now I'm wondering if the new RP3 would be a worthwhile upgrade considering the amp and pre I have. Basically, is the fidelity and phono stage of the 1070 good enough to warrant an upgrade to the RP3 from the RP1? I don't intend on replacing the pre any time soon nor will I be using a seperate phono stage. 1070's are being run to Paradigm Studio Reference 60v2's with a Paradigm sub. Any comments are appreciated...

The RP-1 with the upgrade package ($200) is considered a great TT by some reviewers who I have learned to trust first-hand.
IMHO, it would be a great match with your gear.

    JMHO, YMMV

Just to keep from upgrading soon after intial purchase I would opt for the RP3/P3-24 equivalent. Cartridge is a big part of playback - DV20XH is my recommendation.

          RC-1090 phono stage
          by miner
Have recently got back inot vinyl. Rig consists of a Rega P5, Exact cartridge & TTPSU. I am happy with the sound but am always tweaking. Would a outboard phono stage <$500 improve the sound over my onboard PS? A writer who did a review on the RC-1070 said the phono stage was worth the cost...

          Rotel phono pre

This weekend I upgraded to the RC-1082 from my RC-1070. Got 25% off of retail without asking. Anyway, this will be used in my analogue setup with a Rega P7 TT and Dynavector DV20XH cartridge. The onboard phono stage sounds good to me but I am wondering what else I may be missing - I have never had...

Halo JC 3 -- a step up from previous phono preamps in my system
          by Burke Strickland
A while back on this forum in a discussion about the Halo JC 1 power amps & JC 2 BP preamp that I am enjoying in my 2 channel music system, Chris D predicted that the next hi-fi component I would buy is the JC 3 phono preamp. At the time I wasn’t sure that was in the cards. I recognized its...

          Hello Folks,
Just stumbled across your excellent forum whilst doing my regular www search for Rotel Michi, and thought i'd register.
I have a Rotel RC-1070 and RB-1070 amp in my current Stereo Hi-Fi rig, along with a RDP-980 DAC. ( I've also previously owned an RQ970BX phono amp)....

          Hi folks,

I have a Rotel preamp with the model number: rc-972.

It has installed a Rotel phono preamp.

Just wondering what you guys thought of the sound quality of it and whether or not i should buy a dedicated phono preamp like the Rega Fono Mini A2D one...
