1560 with Sonos, which DAC to use?

I was wondering if I should keep using Sonos analog out out or use digital and let 1560's DAC do the conversion?

Eventually I'm planning to get Musical Fidelity V-DAC anyways.

Definitely use the 1560 DAC. The Sonos analog out is not very good.

I would listen to the same song over and over trying it both ways. If you use high quality IC's for analog , you will be able to hear what the DAC's in the Sonos can sound like. If you decide to use the Optical out , make sure you also use a high quality cable so you reduce or remove Jitter from your tests to make it fair.
I don't know what DAC's are in the Sonos ZP90 but I have not be let down on the hundreds I have Installed.

Anyone know what DAC's are in the ZP90? What is Rotel using these days?

Compare the two and decide for yourself which sounds better.

          1560 DAC details
          by pixeljedi
          Hi All,

Anyone have any specs on the DAC inside the RSX-1560? The site gives info on the one inside the 1570, but nada on the 1560. I couldn't see anything in the manual either.

          Thanks in advance!

          by Freek
i am looking for a 2-ch dac for very good stereo performance.
at the moment i use my spp-300 dac (spdif-coax) for my digital audio.
don't want to spend money on an expensive cd player anymore.
don't need it for multi channel (keep using my ssp-300 for HT)

          Best DAC to use
          by Minivan
          Alright folks,

          I'm running some B&W 705s on an Arcam AVR100.

My PC is the hub of all my entertainment. Currently I have it send the signal optically (via toslink cable) to the amp, then the Arcam uses it's DAC.

I've been looking at the new sound card...

RSX-1560: Using CB Amps for Zone 2
          by njarwala
          Hello,

I have a Rotel RSX 1560. My setup is 5.1 and I do not have Center Back speakers. I want to configure the receiver so that I can use the two Center Back amps to power speakers in my backyard - as Zone 2. I can't seem to get it to work.

Here is what I have already...
