    12v trigger?

    Guys and gals,

Just got the 1069 and 1077. Figured everything out and have it all running except for... wait for it... the 12v trigger. This bad boy doesn't seem to work right. I have the cable plugged into the 12v out on the 1069 (port 1), and plugged into the 12v in on the 1077. The switch on the 1077 is set to "on." In the OSD input menu I have the 12v trigger set to "1" for both inputs (video 1 and video 2). No other fields have data in them.

Everything seems connected right, except when i turn the 1069 on and off nothing seems to happen with the 1077. The light on the 1077 stays on. How do I know if this is working right? I assume that the power button on the front of the 1077 has to be depressed at all times, but shouldn't the light turn off when I shut off the 1069?

    Help! Thanks in advance.

The power button on the amp must remain in the 'on' position. I'm not familiar with the 1077, but on the 1085 the "Protection" light comes on when the system is shut down; otherwise the "Power" light stays on while in use.

Protection lights should flicker either when the trigger is turning the amp on or off. The power light will always remain on.

If you want to check to see if it is working, pull the trigger cable when playing something. If you lose sound, the trigger cable is working. Also make sure none of the ZONES are on. The display on the 1069 should be completely blank when off.

Not on the 1085 -- it's one or the other.

              Power light stays on.
If you want to convince yourself, do as Kevin suggests.

Not sure where to begin or how to test, but here is what i have noticed so fare.

                  1. 1068: a) It can switch between sources, but does not show the source is giving a signal (when source is on). b) The 12v triggers are not working to trip the 1072 or 1077. The OSD does not work so I cant...

Even though this is my first post I'm a regular "observer" of the forum and found it a very informative and useful.

I think I know the answer to my question but I just need a second opinion to just make sure.

Currently have the 1077 amp connected to a 1069 in a 5.1 channel set up and 2 remaining channels powering zone 2. Using a 12v trigger to power the amp. Hi guys,

New Rotel buyer here. Just picked up an RSP-1069 and RMB-1077. I spent 3 hours trying to hook up the components and have been rewarded with no audio or video.

I'm pretty sure I have the 1069 and 1077 hooked up correctly, and all the speakers are correctly connected...

Hi Everyone... Yesterday I set up the remote 12 volt trigger functionality on my 1080. I used a AC Adapter from Radio Shack (thanks for the ideas on that!). Now I am left to wonder if I've set it up correctly. Here's the deal...
