need confermation on fuse size in 1080

shorted my speakers for a split second testing a suspected defective driver

now the fuse only says 250v
    it fails to specify amperage
i grabbed "slow blowing 5 amp" variety

they did not have the fast blowing

did i atleast grab the proper amprage

I believe they were 6.3A slow blow but Rotel has been replacing these (and shipping new units) with 8A slow blow.

      RB 1080 Internal Fuse blowing
      by Aussie Geoff
      Hi,

I have a new RB 1080 that has blown it's one of internal fuses (the ones between the power supply and the output stage) twice for the left channel. This is my second unit, the other blew the right channel fuses. Once replaced (with 6.3Amp slow blow fuses. the amp is fine again).

      RB-991 keeps blowing main fuse
      by kingwilliam
      Hi all...

The problem: My RB-991 blew its main 12-amp fuse the other day (the fuse you can easily change from the back). I tried 10-amp fuses, but blew three in a row. No other components or speakers were hooked up to the amp. I unplugged the amp from the wall before swapping fuses....

      Anyone solved 1080 Fuse issue?
      by Mitchell
Has anyone found a long term solution to the 1080 fuse issue?
Some of the blown fuse posts seem to have started in early 2004. Has anyone who has blown a fuse managed to go at least 6-8 months without blowing them again and if so did they leave it on all the time, not use trigger or some combination?...
