Better upgrade: rdc 1072 or rb 1070?

    Hi to all,

I'm new to this forum and this is my first thread.
Last week I bought my first Rotel gear, RSX 1056 and RDV 1050. I was addicted to NAD untill my first experience with Rotel. I used to own NAD reciever, power amp, dvd player and cd player. With the Rotel reciever and dvd player alone things got way better for me, great sound!
So I know there's more to come, soundwise. I want to upgrade to either RCD 1072 for cd playback, or add RMB 1070. What do you guys think will be a better upgrade for now? I live in the Netherlands and Rotel is way more expensive here than in the U.S, so both the cd player and power amp is not an option for now.

    Thanks for your opinions

Depending on your speakers, I would say the 1072 would be more worth it. Again, depending on your speakers, waiting until you can get a RB-1080 might be the best bet.

      Thanks Kevin,

My speakers are Klipsch RF15 fronts, RB25 rears. Easy to drive, high sensitivity.
I'm a fan of dedicated cd players for dc playback, but have no experience with Rotel cd players. How big of a difference would be the cd playback in comparison with the RDV 1050? With NAD there was a big difference.

Oh forgot to mention center Klipsch RC25, and 2 REL quakes. The REL's are connected
high level (synchronised with front speakers) as well as low level LF.

2900 vs RCD 1072 for cd playback?
          by NHT
As some of you already know, Im not impressed with the performance with my new 1098 that I bought two days ago. Let me rephrase that. It sounds good, but not much better than the 1055 Ive used as a pre/pro. Sure, it has a lot more users options and tweakability but soundwise, in my opinion, is not...

Due to a warrenty issue with my 1068 I am left with a 1070 for a loaner. As an enthusiast I certainly see this as a "glass half full" opportunity to live with a new piece of equipment.

I have it hooked up to a 1072 and 1077. I have to admit I am surprised at how much better...

RCD-1072 vs NAD C542 CD players
          by whmacs
          Hi Guys,
I'm looking to replace my yamaha 396 CD player connected to my RSP-1098 / RMB-1075 / RB-1070 with either a RCD-1072 or NAD C542. This week I brought home a C542 and connnected it via the analogue inputs. The sound left the Yamaha for dead. It was smooth, warm, and very musical with notes...

          A Quick Preamp Question (RC-1070/90)
          by KEF
I have a quick question about adding a dedicated preamp to my current system –

At this moment I go analog out of my RDC-1072 into my Yamaha RX-V1400. I run the pre-out for my mains into my RB-1080, and then bi-wire out to my N804s.

When I listen to CDs, I set the Yamaha...

          Wow, the RCD-1072 is good!

After having had a NAD 502 CD player for over 10 years and loving it to bits, I went back to an all Rotel set. I first got the RDV-1060 but after some initial problems I chose to change it for an RCD-1072. The first one I got had a broken transport mechanism. The exchange was painless however and I...
