    RSP1066 crossover question

    Hi,

does anybody know what happens to the LFE frequencies above 40 Hz when I set the crossover frequency in the Rotel to 40Hz. According to http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_9_3/feature-article-multiple-crossovers-9-2002.html
most Processors simple throw the LFE info above the crossover point away. Also the Rotel? I am curious.

    Ok,

now I got a reply from Rotel. It seems that everything above the crossover frequency in the .1 channel is just discarded. So, if you select 40 Hz, your LFE will lose everything above 40 Hz. This is not good, perhaps a firmware update can help?

      LFE over x-over freq discarded for 1066, 1065, & 1055?

I'm told that the BM in the 1066, 1065, & 1055 discards the LFE above the crossover frequency. That is, if you set your speakers small, and chose to set the sub crossover freq at, say, 60 Hz, anything above 60 Hz in the LFE channel is simply discarded.

      Now, this doen't sound like...

Is it possible to have different crossover seettings on the LFE/SUB? For 2 CH i have set the fronts to small and their HP-filter set to 60 hz and the sub (redirected bass) set to 60 hz. I'm very happy with these settings, but the problem is, when i'm listening to a 5.1 mix, the LFE channel get "chucked"...

      Directing LFE to subwoofer
      by tonygeno
Is it possible to route only the LFE to a sub with this processor? I am considering the NHT VT-3 system which has two 10's per side that are make it a full range speaker. I wanted to keep my HSU TN1220HO subs (I have a pair) and use them only for LFE. In going through the set up menus of the RDC7 there...
