new rotel tuner?

does anybody have any idea when the new rotel tuner is coming out w/ hd radio, i read an article about it in a magazine, but no date was listed. does rotel have particular release dates for their products.

I asked Rotel about a DAB version of the 1080 and they said that they were working on it but no confirmed date yet. I don't believe these manufacturers have official release dates because things tend to slip, and it is probably better that they work at their own pace and get it right, as opposed to rushing it to a deadline.
Never the less, this is the tuner that I'm waiting for.

I'm also interested in such a tuner, I can only hope that it will be suitable for our fledgling digital radio system in Australia. And of course that it matches my current rotel equipment

Was looking at the RT-1080 as well, but I think I'll wait for the new model. 5 bones is alot to spend for a tuner now that will soon be outdated.

I've been waiting for the new tuner. Anybody know about timing for the Sirius / Rotel tuner, and whether this will receive local stations?

Saw in a new magazine today that the RT-1084 is slated for second quater of this year. Looked pretty sweet, AM/FM plus HD radio. It also has slots for up to 3 SIRIUS tuner cards.

I was looking forward to the new tuner to add but Seems you are not supporting XM Radio.

This I can't believe... first you shun SACD now XM ...I really hate to mix up componets but you are forcing your customers

to shop elsewhere for the sake of license fees. For A company that is competing against higher end brands I feel these are

SIRIUS mistakes.

I am happy they chose Sirius and not XM. I own the RT-1080 now and will gladly update to the RT-1084 for the addition of Sirius. I hope it is available before Howard Stern makes the move in January 2006.

Looks to me from the pictues posted on the web, its nothing but a satelite turner with no FM/AM compatibility at least no screen for radio stations?

That's a design Rotel was tossing around but it likely will never make it to production due to costs.

The 1084 does have onboard analog AM/FM tuners and looks nothing like the images we've seen online so far...at least none that I've seen.

to complete my Rotel setup, I want to add a tuner. any ideas when the RT-1084 will be available ?

Anybody ever seen the back side of the RT-1084 HD? Specifically, does it have a digital output (coax or optical)?

The geniuses at the iBiquity web site refer readers to www.rotel.com for more information about the product, but the Rotel site doesn't mention the 1084 anywhere.

I actually haven't even seen mention of the 1084 from Rotel in a long time. They might be rethinking/reworking the product. If it's at CES this year, I'll let you know.

Asked Rotel Europe about the RT-1084, Got the following answer :

"The RT-1084 is due for release sometime this year however, I do not have specific release dates or specifications."

Thanks for the link. I hope it is Q12006, but I think it is highly doubtful as Rotel takes their sweet time with product releases. Let's hope for soon after.
