I have been thinking of upgrading my entry level RCD 02. However after reading a thread on modifying the 1072, I wondered if it was worth trying on the RCD 02? I believe it has the same DAC as the 1072, although different OP Amp. What do you think? is it worth trying or should I scrap it and buy something else?

I found out that if you use an outboard D/A it has to be able to decode HDCD. -

In addition to the upgraded op-amps on the 1072, I believe that there are dual Burr-Brown DACs onboard (02 has only one). Might be a difficult home conversion job.

Rotel seems to have quite a few CD player and I'm having a hard time understanding the difference between them.
Is there a difference between the RCC-1055 and the RCD-1072 (except for the fact that RCC is a 5 disk changer)? I mean is there a difference in quality?
