    Number of Rotel Components?

Didn't find a topic like this in the archives... was wondering if there were any other Rotelaholics like myself.

A quick glance at the rack; 11 Rotel components. Does Rotel offer some sort of plaque or something - like those 1,000,000 mile badges Mercedes used to give its customers?

I am currently running 3 Rotel components:

                1) RSP-1098 (Brains)
                2) RMB-1095 (Heart)
                3) RCD-1070 (Soul)

Bigus, I'm curious what 11 rotel products are you running?

                Regards,

                Azeke

Three so far, but I'm thinking I may one day own a Rotel CD or DVD player.

                  RMB-1075

RSP1066 (will be replaced by the 1098)
                        RB1090 for the main fronts.
RMB1075 (will be sold together with my RSP1066 and not be replaced for a while. Got to save some money. If anyone in Holland knows a good second hand 993 (3x200 watt) then please contact me (blaat@chello.nl)).
RCD991, bought second hand last week. Nice nice nice nice

Had 2: RSP-1066 and RCD-855. Just sold the RCD-855 on ebay.

Hopefully within the next few weeks I'll be picking up my RMB-1095... so I will be back at 2. After that I hope to add a RMB-1066 or RMB-1048 to drive channels 6 and 7 as well as speakers in zone 2.

Until Rotel can make a DVD player with as good a picture as my Panasonic RP-82 or a SACD/CD player on par with the Sony SCD-C555ES, I will top out at 3.

I've had it for at least a year. When I heard the rumored specs for it, I pre-ordered it from OneCall in May of 2002.

A lot of people got suckered into believing it was going to be released in black and held off ordering it. Instead of releasing it in black, Panasonic discontinued it because it killed the sales of their flagship RP91.

                                      Azeke,

                                      1 RSP-960AX
                                      1 RT-940AX
                                      1 RLC-900
                                      2 RB-991
                                      6 RB-981

I also have a Marantz DP870 to handle DD (waiting until the move to the new house to grab a shiny Lexicon MC8 - can't wait!), and a Denon DVD and Sony DVD player. And a dbx234 active crossover, but that's just a temporary thing until I build a set with hard XO points.

BTW, I'm looking for another RLC-900 if someone knows of a good deal on one.

Since the RP82 kicked a$$ in the Secrets of HT shootout, but is no longer available, do you know of any DVD player that is available that is comparable? In other words, was that a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to buy state of the art for under $200 and I just missed the boat, or is there a wothy successor out there somewhere?

Denon 1600's are still available and if you find one used they're not that expensive.

There are Denon 1600s on ebay for $389. The 1600 has the same video performance as the RP82, but better DACs for DVD-A. At the time I bought my RP82, the RP82 was $199 and the Denon was $499. Both are now $389 on ebay. No-brainer, take the 1600 over the RP82 for the same money.
