Firmware update on 1055

Just wondering what opinion is or if anyone has actually done it. I have a
RSX 1055. V2.2.5. Was wondering if there would be any benifit if I upgraded it to the 2.2.6 version.

I did it to mine, helped with the infamous "popping" noise, when the receiver's DAC was locking in, along with the default to Pro Logic II with digital inputs, works great now that I am using digital audio feeds from a HD video cable turner and an HD video OTA tuner.

I can't remember what I had before when the unit was bought brand new, but I think it was older than your firmware version. With the help of a Dell laptop, cabling and connectors from Radio Shack, and my (then 13-year-old) computer whiz son...no problem with the download.

I still have a problem with pops on my front and center signal going to my pre/main amps, when I switch the inputs of my multichannel preamp (along with the Rotel connected). I have found that if some other component, such as an EQ, is inserted in between the Rotel and the Sony TAP pre amp, it totally eliminates them. I haven't checked with a meter yet, but from what I have read, this may be a "DC offset" problem. (Excessive DC getting though the signal to the amps/speakers)

There's no reason not to do the update since its free and does help with a few minor issues.
