    1098 IR problems

I have a 1098 and trying to use a Buffalo IR extender with the IR in on the back of the 1098. Using a xantech 3.5mm mono cable from the buffalo to the 1098 and it seems as though the 1098 isn't recieving the IR signal about 70% of the time, it works about 30% of the time - however if I use an IR blaster from the Buffalo to the IR receiver on the front of the 1098 it works 99% of the time. Running an old version of the firmware (1.2) and been too lazy to update - any thoughts??

Hmm I'm also using a buffalo connecting block for my second zone and it works very well most of the time. when it doesn't work its becasue there's too much sunlight hitting my IR receiving window upstairs.

      by DrBoom
Well, it's been almost 2 months now that I've lived with both my Rotel RSP1098 and my Parasound C2 and the time for deciding which I'm going to keep is almost at hand.(not that I HAVE to decide now for some reason, but I'd hate to end up with 2 processors permanently)
I actually own both of them,...
