Any Parasound pre-pro owners listened to Outlaw's pre-pro?

I would love to get a C2, but its a little over my budget. I'm looking for an alternative, and haven't had much luck with Rotel in the past, so I want to stay away from them.
I read about the Outlaw pre-processor in another general forum, but I thought I'd ask someone here if they've heard the Outlaw or compared against it, to see what kind of a difference I'd be looking at. I have a Parasound stereo power amp (1500A) to which I'd add another 2+mono or 5 channel amp. If anyone has any input that would be very helpful.
    Thanks.

I havent had any of the Parasound pre/pros in my system, but just last week I picked up a Bstock Outlaw 950 pre/pro from their website. For $730.00 w/free shipping, it blows me away how they could sell something so cheap, especially seeing as its a decent piece of equipment.

I might actually hold onto this longer than I anticipated.

Returned the outlaw. While it put up a fight and for 740.00, its amazing, but this C2 is killer!

Maybe you should wait to see what Parasound reveals in their new and improved classic line at CEDIA next week.

Yes, they are slightly updating their classic line, slight changes in faceplate and some to internals. They will be priced competitively as usual.

I assume they are making a new pre/pro, because the classic one did not support 7.1, atleast I dont believe it did.

I waited on these for a while, and woke up one day and realized I wanted the Halo, I just couldnt resist.

I am now waiting on the Halo dvd/cd player...I am impatient!

Do you know any details on the Halo DVD player? Will it be SACD/DVD-Audio/MP3/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R/DVD-RW compatible? Will it utilize either the silicon or faroudja deinterlacer? Will it be chroma bug free? Y-channel delay free? Have extensive bass management options? Be sturdy and powerful in build quality and design? Feature both toslink and coaxial output? Have DVI output?

And the $64K question is...how much will this puppy run for?

BUT the $100,000,000 question is...will it be as SEEEEEEEXXXXXXXYYY as the other Halo components? :T :T :T :T

if its a Halo piece, ofcourse it'll be sexy...

                as to your other questions...

Im sure itll support all the latest formats, I heard parasound had one ready a while ago but scrapped it due to it not having all the goodies.

Whatever it may have, itll be more than enough for me :T

Oh, yeah... can't wait to see if Parasound does anything at CEDIA. I got my hopes up for CES, so this time I'll just wait and see. You never know! One things for sure, saying anything now would just be pure speculation.

Chris, any opinions on a price for such a player? I just realized that if its Halo based, itll be very pricey and Im not ready to drop tons of $$ on it if it is.

No new stuff at CEDIA. The Engineer told us to wait until the new Classic piece comes out to get a pre/pro. He said that it will use a lot of the compenents from the C1/C2 Halo line. I'll be holding out to see what it will perform/look like. He also said that they are almost done with a few updates for the C2.

Oooh, what kinda updates? DPIIx? All firmware updates, which are free I assume? Or are these hardware updates, and if so, any guesses as to how much the cost of entry will be?

Interesting. I was thinking we would see something at CEDIA. I was guessing that it was going to be some mid-level classic line pieces, but wasn't sure. Well, we know that updates are going to come out sooner or later! Can't wait!

As far as prices for new units, all indications have been that these will be high-end units, perhaps even exotic. Maybe $3k or above, but we never know!

A friend of mine had a few days left before he had to return his 950 back to Outlaw (he bought the AT Clone and uses an Anthem Pre2L for his 2 channel listening). I thought why not? This is a good chance to try the Outlaw in my system for a couple days. I did a few comparisons the past 2 nights and...
