Reviving old threads without good reason

Is this allowed? If it is, maybe the rules should be reviewed and updated. It is very frustrating to have to read old outdated threads from 3+ years back just because of a new comment that doesn't give any new value to the tread at all.

Ok, if it happens to one or two thread no big deal. But 20+ threads! THAT IS FRUSTRATING! :M

I doubt I'm the only one with this opinion...

    Thanks,
    Peter

Agree Peter it was very annoying. All those threads brought up with nothing new. I thought it was a joke at first.

It was some shmuck who registered and dredged up a bunch of old threads. There's no hard and set rule against it, but it's generally not good forum etiquette. Sure, 1 or 2 threads, but not 20+.

We're discussing what to do about it. We will probably delete the posts in question, to return the old threads back down into the murky depths of HTG.

        Ooops

As a recent returnee to audio I must confess to the same "crime". I grew up pre-PC and have been overwhelmed by the availability and quality of info available. I would tend not to be too harsh to a newbie to the forum , if only because my manners have gotten better and everyone here was exceedingly kind to me during the learning phase. "Kid in a candy store" syndrome isn't uncommon , and shows enthusiaism this hobby can only benefit from. My $.02.

Most/all of the mini-posts have been deleted that added no value. So the only side-effect left is that those of us that responded to those posts (I think mostly me) will now appear rather silly, as if you responded to nothing.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.
