    DS6 or DS7?

Just registered to forum today. Long time lurker here. Wondering if anyone owns any of these speakers. Right now i have 705s for fronts, LCR6 for center, 602s for rears. I need to make room for more seating so these surrounds will work well. I really like the monopole/dipole option too. I am looking at upgrading the center to either htm7 or another 705. I am trying to save a few $$$ by getting the DS6 instead of the DS7 for surrounds. Anyone heard these surrounds? TIA

    Cheers,
    jer

i'll be the first to welcome you, but unfortunatly I don't have any of the speakers you have. I have 601s as mains, LCR600 as center and soon to pick up a pair of either 600 or DS6 as surrounds and a SVS PC+20-39 also. I'll upgrade the mains to either the 705 w/HTM7 or 805s w/HTM2 combo around middle of next year. From reading the response of most members here, most of them think the HTM7 is a very good match with 705s. I'm not sure if you can buy one 705 not as a pair.

You can buy 1 705... you just need to ask the dealer and they will make the arrangements.

Just got the HTM7 last week to be placed alongside my 705s. What a match! :T Soundstage is so much better that what I was used to with the DM602 - LCR6 combination! However, I still have to get used to the size of the HTM7...

As for the rear channel, I too am interested in the option DS6 or DS7. Actually I'm also considering the 601s or another pair of 705s (no DM600, since I will be playing multichannel music every once in a while...).

I'll be watching this thread, that's for sure...

          4x705s/HTM7 + DS6 or 4x705s/HTM7 + DS7 ??

          Hi,

Im looking at putting together a package of 4x 705s plus a HTM7 for 5.1 HT use. I would actually like to go 6.1 (I dont have enough space for 2 speakers on my rear wall), and so my first logical choice was to go for the DS7.

705 and htm7 question re cable and position
          by alpina
whats the optimum size cable for the 705 and htm7 and are 4mm banana plugs ok?

also, i've been told that these speakers need to be positioned away from the wall to get the best sound. whats the minimun distance that i have to allow and does this also apply to the center also?

Freq response and DS7 surround speakers
          by Pez
I am looking to add the DS7 suuround speakers to my 705 and HTM7 setup but was concerned about the frequency response. Most of my HT usage is movies and when used in dipole mode the upper end of teh DS7 is only rated to 10 kHz as opposed to 20 kHz that most speakers are listed at. Based on the description...

          DS6/DM600 as rear surrounds?
          by BlazeMaster
As title says it all, which should I go with to use as rear surrounds? I have the Denon 2805 which is compatible with DPLIIx and will be using the DS6 as side surrounds for sure at about 2 feet above ear level when sitting down. The saving of $$ by going to DM600 can apply to my upgrade of fronts...

New to the club but have had my setup for sometime.

Currently I am using a Rotel RSX-1057 to power 704 for the mains, HTM7 for the center and 705 for surrounds. I am looking for advice on these 2 options.

          Should give the 704's 130x2 from a Rotel RB-1070
