They do sound better with time!!

I have had my B&W 802's, HTM1, & 805's for about 2½ months now, and my son was watching Die Hard the other day, and I though to myself, I don't remember that movie sounding that good before. I think my B&W's are starting to break in nicely now. I also happened to be at my dealers the other day, and he told me that one day I will think, gee these speakers are really starting to sound good. He did confirm that the break in period is fairly long. No specific time frame given, but they are reluctant to upgrade their older 802's because they are so nicely broken in.

All I can say - I think I will continue to be in for little surprises in my sound for quite a while. Oh what sweet sound!!!

Does anyone else have an experience similar?

    Dan

I have been thinking the same thing about my 804's lately. The sound field is coming together nicely! When I first got them, I could tell there was definately 2 speakers when listening to 2 channel music, now, if i didn't know any better, I would think it was all coming from my center speaker, which is off at the time.
I'm just sittin here watchin the wheels go round and round...

      Question re: Break-in of speakers...
      by azsyno
Lots of discussion on breaking in speakers - here and on other high-end audio forums. Seems that the majority of audiphiles believe in the process and the return that proper breaking in can offer.

The trouble I have is that I've never known whether or not breaking in speakers is empirically...

      Labor Day Line Array
      by rhubarb9999
Here is a project I put together over the Labor Day holiday. The drivers are 3 1/2" Panasonic full range speakers from a guy on eBay. My original plan was to clone the Bose L1 system for use with my band .. but the band broke up. So I decided to build a quick and dirty (and cheap) line array...

Rotel Electronics Break-in. Bona fide or Bogus?
      by mb225
I recently bought a Rotel RB-1582 Amplifier and a Rotel RC-1550 preamplifier. I have heard a lot of people say that the amp/preamp will need to be "broken in". I wanted to start this tread to find out what other people think about this concept? Do you think that solid state audio electronics...
Break-in is BS! I think break-in is just your ears adapting to the sound

I don’t believe in break-in. I think electronics need to be warmed up which should take 15-60 mins

Break-in is real; but can only account for very minor changes and happens in 50 hours

You need 400+ hours. Things will change for years, the more you use it the better it gets

rsx 1056 sounds thin, what's the break in time?
      by Chuck
I finally received my 1056 yesterday evening and I’m actually a little disappointed. I’m trying not to think about it, and give it a few days to break in but it’s hard not to second guess the purchase. I was previously considering getting the RB-1080 for the fronts or possibly the 1067 instead,...
