    Update to B&W 800 Diamond Series

    My dealer told me that the 800 Series Diamond would be released in June 2021.
    June arrived and all my dealer could provide was preliminary pricing.
    Meanwhile, ebay been busy with dealers and owners selling off their D3 speakers.
    I see that Sound United has a booth and news announcements pending for their products set for the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in October.
    Anyone heard anything?

      Lots of buzz on other audio forums about this. There was a private unveiling for press last month but with non-disclosure agreements in place. Public revelation will be around 9/1 with, again, private demos at CEDIA.

      If you Google around, you can find lots of leaked information but not from me.

          It is interesting to note that the 800 Diamond was awarded 104 points. It's predecessor, the 800D, was awarded 101 points when it was reviewed at this same site in May 2005.

          This is how their point system of grading is applied:

          REFERENCE CATEGORY 101 points and above (superior)...

          Reading some posts involving the old and new 800 Series where the diamond tweeter is concerned can be a bit confusing at times. For instance the new 805 Diamond has been labeled everything from 805D, 805Di to 805D2. According to B&W they are referencing the new series as the D2 series for short....
