    New theatre room

    Hi all,

I'm in the process of getting some house plans finalised. These include a 5.5 x 4.2m theatre room (18 x 13.8 feet). At the moment I own a pair of 804di and a pair of CM5.

I love bass heavy music so am pretty certain I'm going to get a DB1 sub. The other speakers are open to debate.

I would like a stereo hifi in the lounge room as well. I was thinking of using the CM5 pair for this and getting 4 m1 speakers for surround duties. I'm probably an 80/20 music/movie and xbox mix so surround is not a huge priority but I'm aware that 804di up front and satellite rears is probably a terrible idea. It would make the room nice and neat if I wallmounted them...

What do people think about the size of the room compared with the front speakers? Haven't decided whether to go with thick curtains or acoustic panels. Curtains would win on atmosphere...

    What do your guys think?

Room is good, I use 703's in a 22x14 room, I would like to board up two doors and pretend they do not exist, but that is for another forum.

Interesting acoustical phenomenon in my listening room
            by Heavygen
I have recently moved into a house where the home theater/stereo is in half of a 10X24 room, making the "listening room" proper 10X wide by 12X long with the back open all of the way to the back wall at 24'. The only additional thing to consider is that the room is partially divided at 12'...

            Upgrade from B&W 685. 703? CM5 S2.
            by Mark_89
            Hello,

as a long-time fan of B&W I have enjoyed my 68x-series theatre (fronts: 685, center: htm62, rear: 686 with a BK XXLS400 sub on a Marantz SR5003) for many years now. However, recently I have upgraded my job and now it's time for the speakers to follow suit. I absolutely love...

            803di vs 804di
            by Chucka
I have been auditioning 804di and 803di's in a number of different dealers, with different rooms and electronics. My wife prefers the larger physical size of the 803's to better match the scale of the room and other items in the room but does not like to looks of the 802's. The system, which will...

Can the CMC2 work with the CM5's?
            by Kristopher
            Hi, new here.

I'm thinking of getting the CM5's and instead of getting the CMC i want to get the CMC2 since it's a much better center. Will it blend well with the CM5's?

I could just get the CM9's but i don't want to spend that much on speakers yet. And i don't think...

            Our HT Room Transformation
            by David Meek
Jen and I were talking this weekend and - knock me over with a feather! - she has wholeheartedly agreed to several major modifications to our little dedicated HT room. What started out as a simple job of adding French doors has become this:
            1. - build opening in wall to recess RPTV
              - build second
            ...
