Or do I definetely need the dedicated stand?

I have an HTM2D, and it is sitting on a Salamander entertainment center. A dedicated stand would probably be better, but real world limitations kick in. The HTM2D sits in the open (nothing on the sides, above or behind it).
Try to avoid putting it in a box.

Just starting installation of my DB1 into a system comprising of:
802 Diamonds FL and FR
HTM2 Diamond Centre
CCM818 Rears and Surround Backs
Onkyo 5509 Processor
Fed into CP800/CA3200 to power fronts, CAP2100 to power centre. Both on HT BYPASS... -
I am putting the htm2 speaker in with this review because it is the only center that matches these speakers.
The 805 is the cheapest of the Nautilus speakers, if you do not include a stand in the price. When I brought these speakers home initially, I didnt really have very high hopes.... -
I finally made the jump from my "old" HTM1 to the new HTM2D.
It is coming tomorrow.

Right now, I've got an HTM7 center. I paid about 750 for it I believe. I am going to be upgrading my 602 S3's to 805S in about a month. I like my HTM7, but i notice areas of improvement in the sound, and I realized that for only maybe 500 bucks extra I could trade in for an HTM4S which I hear is a significant... -
Like the title says. I'm just wondering if i can get away with getting the HTM2 over the HTM4s. I can get a much better deal on the HTM2 but im worried about HTM2 matching with the new 805s.
