Hi everyone! This is my first post here. I'm thinking about getting a B&W system both for HT and stereo for my living room starting with a stereo system and than expanding it to HT. Now the room itself is 50 sq.meters (which on paper calls for 800) but I can't use it all. So the maximum distance between the tweaters can be no more than 2,3 or 2,4 meters. Is it too small for 800? They are usually positioned much wider - 3 meters apart at least. And what's the decent distance between them and your ears? There are exactly 5 meters between my ears and the back wall. If I pull them 60 cm from the back wall I'll have ~ 3,70 meters between my ears and the speakers. Don't they need much more? Should I think about 802s? They sure look more reasonable but I still want the big sound and great bass if you know what I mean.
800 or 802 for my room?

by AntonkkHi, I'm a new guy here and this is my first post. I'm thinking about building a McIntosh/B&W system for both stereo and HT. Of course it starts with fronts. Now the room is 50 sq.m but it's a studio and the listening area is not as big. I can give 800 and 801 appox 60 cm (2 ft) from the back wall,...-

.....
What is a pair of Signature 800's worth?
How would they compare to the current version of the 802 Diamonds? I'm guessing the current 802's will sound better....
I also understand that the 800's will require as much power...-

by Joey_VSo I'm looking into getting into the club. I've heard my fair share of speakers and although I have to seriously audition the Sophia 3, Sasha 2, and the Alexias from Wilson - I am looking like I enjoy the sound coming out of the 802 Diamond and the 800 Diamond.
My room is a dedicated...-

by james_dmiI'm sure everyone with a headed 800 series speaker has discovered that dust loves to attach itself to them. Whilst obviously not of any sonic consequence its sort of annoying to continually have to wipe them with the supplied cloths (Which I think was great touch for B&W to include) Where I have...-

by KaranthesI have a Primare SPA21 and A30.2 (surround/power) amps. Have anyone tried using a sub in the 800-series between a pre and power amp? The b&w dealer here said it wasn't optimal, but not surprising had no clue how much distortion or degration of the signal in general I might expect. A mail to b&w...-
