Newbie post here, but I did search forums first.
Waiting on delivery of 803D fronts and Vincent Monoblock amps for stereo. Considering going for the HTM2D center. Currently have Polk side/rear channel speakers which are wall mounted in current apartment. Looking at moving to a new apartment where we will not have side walls for mounting HT speakers. Most 803D-HTM2D based HT configurations I have read about use 805s for the surrounds. Since they are stand mounted, they would work as freestanding surrounds, but they come with a pretty hefty price tag given their less demanding assignment (particularly if I go all the way to 7 channel).
Does anyone have a view of more affordable free standing surrounds that would be a good match for the 803Ds and HTM2D? Many thanks in advance.
