As in stolen? That's very sad indeed. Well, the only thing left to do now is restock. Try to make a silver lining out of that dark cloud.

they must have known that I have a lot of money there in that equipment and have observed that I was away.
They came for the classe...via the roof

Here's hoping that you are able to replace them asap.
Got to try to stay positive, focused and do what you can.
          Strength, gerardhn!

Sorry to hear that! Probably a good reminder for all of us...need to do an inventory (e.g., with pictures), and store all with receipts in a safe place.

Wonder if they would allow my HTGuide photos as evidence...?

This is terrible news gerardhn. I can only hope that things will turn around for you quickly. Soon after my equipment came in I was on the phone with my insurance agent confirming their theft coverage. I was reassurred full replacement value if anything is inadvertantly damaged or stolen. Do you have State Farm insurance?

As were my Studio 100s and Servo 15; well, in a white pickup truck, anyway. :P

Seriously though, sorry to hear about your loss gerardhn.

For me, even worse than the loss of the equipment was the sense of violation I felt when some of my stuff was stolen many years ago.

Yes I feel raped in the hart.
Yes they were after the classe set.
                                  No they left the 802d's.
                                  Yes I have insurance.
It covers the classe value. Not the classe + 802d value.
But the insurance expert has to come, to have a look. So I dont have the insurance money yet.
Before I buy anything new, I will have an expert here to advice me how to protect the house better.
                                  I feel pain.

gerardhn, at least they did not damage the things they did not take. I once had someone break into my car and when the thieves could not remove my amps and cdp (I designed a special mounting platform with no visible screws) they proceeded to smash everything in site. So even though they could not steal anything, they destroyed everything instead...at least they left your 802d untouched.

It makes me wonder about this world sometimes.

Again, I hope all goes well with you.

Hope everything is taken care of quick and properly.
I myself have worried of this very instance. I have a detailed spreadsheet with all my product, model and serial numbers. Along with purchase and retail prices. Ive asked my ins agent if i need an extra floater for this and he said I am covered.

Seeing this thread has made me think twice to make sure I am covered.
Again, keep up updated and my wishes go out to you.

Hm I was thinking a nice heavy safe can do the trick - works against RF interference, great in heat dissipation for any hi-fi gear you put inside  and coupled with burglar-proof 801Ds Stealing 801s is like stealing a house. Difficult. And then you are fully covered

Yes, by all means 'reinforce' your surroundings. In my first rental house my entire Yamaha/Altec stereo was stolen. I replaced with better equipment and then 6 months later it happened again. I can almost assure you that your place will be visited again by those scumbags. Also, keep an eye out on the local want adds just to see if any equipment turns up that may be yours. It could have been worse.

I would get a couple of Rotweilers and unleash them in your Music/HT room when you are not around!!! And get a good Burglar alarm with Motion and heat sensors!!

                                              miner,

                                              I was visited in juni.
Then they took my pc and digital camera.
They left the Classe then, which surprized me and the police ( police:I knew what I would have taken...)
Because I knew they would come back... to get my supposed new bought pc.. I didnt buy a PC!. But I used the notebook from my work.... This was also stolen .. together with the Classees.
(Now I type this with a brand new notebook from my boss.. no new Classees yet..)

I would purchase a shotgun and a box of #7 bird shot shells. Let it be known you've purchased new and better equipment. Wait for the thieves and give them what they deserve. Leave their scarred bodies hanging from a tree in your front yard. The other scum bags in the neighborhood will get the message. All kidding aside, the only recourse is to fortify your domain, and purchase insurance on the equipment.

I really feel your pain! Having said that, I realize it is not an easy matter to not feel down, but the real challenge for you, imho, at the moment is in the area of your thoughts & feelings. Although the "lowlifes  " have stolen the heart of your audio-video system in the Classe equipment and accessories which I'm sure was very dear to you, don't allow them to also rob you further by also causing you anguish and distress in your feelings & thought life. Rather, hold your chin up high, dwell on some pleasant thoughts and know that you will rise above this.

Years ago, I saved up and spent a small fortune on high-end stereo separates that I truly loved and enjoyed only to have them stolen. I was so totally stunned and devastated that I walked around depressed & dazed far too long. The burglars were eventual caught by the police (about a month and a half later) but the only items I was able to recover were some of the classic Jazz LP albums that were personally signed & inscribed to me by the artists themselves. I was so paranoid after that, that I engraved my social security # in large print on the every piece of the next audio system I got. Looking back, I can't believe I multilated some very nice audio components with that ugly engraving out of fear. It was later that I realized that the thieves had robbed me of not only the audio equipment, but also the peace that a pleasant frame of mind & cheerful feelings brings.

Don't make the same mistake I made.

                                                    Be encouraged,

That's a good lesson about paranoia.
I was wondering if everyone reading the sad story could keep a lookout for the items taken and the serial numbers in case they ever turn up for sale at some unmentioned action sites.
It makes me wonder how many items up for sale may be stolen?

Yes Joey_V, you are right and I agree 100% that that wasn't too bright of an idea, even back then when identity theft wasn't an issue. I would never ever do that now a days. My point was that my paranoid state of mind initiated by the theft caused me to over react in a foolish way and for gerardhn not to be caught off guard by any thing similiar.

Man I feel soo sorry for you!!!!
I remember one of the last PM you sent me ....

Your story sadly remembers me another one that happened to a friend of mine.
She was visited a couple of days ago, jewelry was gone...
She has also some nice paintings.

Police told her that within the next 6 months she could expect another visit... :M :M :M :M

Because apparantly those gangs have all their specialties; and they exchange informations.....

                                                              Gerardhn,

The things that were stolen probably have serial numbers and you should report the theft of those serial numbers to Classe. At some point someone will sell or buy or upgrade and they may show up giving a lead to the person who stole it.
