    speaker purchase dilemma

I am in the process of auditioning speakers for my home theater/music system. I have been to the dealer several times and have auditioned the 600 series and the CM1's which both fit into my budget. I have also been ebaying and have seen several CM4's that look nice. I know I am kinda crossing several different series. At the moment I will be using a Yamaha HTR 5990 to drive the speakers.

Are there any opinions between the older CM4's vs. the newer CM1's. I like the looks of both the wood of either will fit in with the decor. I cannot find an older center channel for the CM4's so I will have to purchase the CM center channel. I will be using a Klipsch Sub12 for the time being.

As for as rear surrounds are there any suggestions. I do not want something that will hang on the wall and stick out like a sore thumb, so I am looking for an inwall mounting. I looked at the CDS 600 surround and just a regular inwall speaker.

    CM1s on a bookshelf?
    by stevesfl
Considering purchase of two CM1s for R/L speakers for home theater. Wife has vetoed floor stands, so am wondering if placing the CM1s on bookshelves on either side of TV will be a problem? Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thx

    Hello all,

First post here; hopefully not my last. I currently own a bunch of old, mass market electronics and I'm looking to upgrade to something better. Basic plan of action:

Step 1: Get the Rotel 1550 Surround Receiver. I can hook this up to some older style Polk...

i have searched and found that several people have posted questions about modifying one of the existing projects to work as in inwall. the issue seems to be the depth limitation and i saw mentioned that if you had a 2x6 it would be much better. common practice for building a theater today is to use...
