Our B&W dealer still had a pair of new N805 signatures unopened in the box and N800s on display about 2 months back. The current series has not been round long (beginning of last year in Australia I think), I think the N805 started life in the late '90s.
There was no mention of a discount on the N805 signatures either. Look great, but an extra 3 grand over the 805s for the nice finish is a bit much (reviews said that 805s sounds better than N805 signatures, which in turn was superior to the standard N805).
N805 at a 705 price sounds worth it if they are in tip top condition (2nd hand)Mac 8gb SSD Audirvana ->Weiss INT202 firewire interface ->Naim DAC & XPS2 DR->Conrad Johnson CT5 & LP70S-> Vivid B1s. Nordost Valhalla cables & resonance management. (Still waiting for Paul Hynes PS:M)

I'm new to B&W speakers but am looking to purchase used 805 or 805S. First question, is there significant difference between 805 and 805S? I am interested in buying the 805 series speakers but would like to know your opinion regarding the sound quality of the old 805 nautilus and the new 805 S.
I heard from people that older version is better.
I cannot afford to buy the new speakers (2500$) hence planning...
